Discover Newport is pleased to announce that Hertz has opened a new location in the Newport Gateway Visitors Center, the city's primary public transportation hub. The car rental company joins the family of vendors at the busy city-owned campus including BeDazzled; a women's fashion, jewelry and accessories boutique, and Gerry’s on the Go; featuring fresh pastries, salads, light bites, coffee and refreshments. The new branch replaces its former location on Broadway in Newport.

“Hertz is a convenient and smart addition to the Newport Gateway Visitors Center,” said Cathy Morrison, Discover Newport vice president of operations. “Multiple transportation modes utilize the center daily, including a variety of bus lines, taxi and shuttle services which access the airport and train station, plus cities and towns throughout the region. This added service benefits our local residents and visitors alike.”

Hertz’s Newport Branch Manager, Julius Hoff, has already seen robust business at the new location. “Being at the city’s main transportation hub in the heart of downtown and steps from the largest hotels is ideal for our customers. Here we can continue to offer our customers a full range of rental vehicles including minivans and premium vehicles, compact through full-size cars and vehicles equipped with an on-board navigation system.” Hoff added that Hertz’s vehicles are available for rental with unlimited mileage and all rate structures are honored, including one-way, inter-city rates.

“We’re pleased to offer another premium service to those visiting our destination and those who call the area home,” said Evan Smith, president and CEO of Discover Newport. “The addition of Hertz solidifies the Visitors Center as a one-stop-shop with information, ticket sales, souvenirs and gifts, provisions and refreshments, and multimodal transportation which now includes car rental.”
