This week brings the unofficial start of summer here in the City by the Sea as our rooftop bars, al fresco patios, sprawling seaside lawns and outdoor attractions begin to open up for the return of Memorial Day. You bet we have big plans for celebrating.

This Wednesday, Aquidneck Growers Market returns with fresh, locally grown produce, flowers, baked goods and more on Memorial Boulevard. Head to the outdoor market for the freshest al fresco shopping. When you're done, head over to Residence Inn by Marriott, where local food trucks are serving up authentic, eclectic cuisine every other Wednesday evening.

This Friday, celebrate the Newport Vineyards newest wine releases at the 15th Annual Spring Celebration with grape stomping, wine tasting, potato sack racing, live music and more.
