One summer's evening, two ageing writers, Hirst and Spooner, meet in a Hampstead pub and continue their drinking into the night at Hirst's stately house nearby.  As the pair become increasingly inebriated, and their stories increasingly unbelievable, the lively conversation soon turns into a revealing power game, further complicated by the return home of two sinister younger men.

Details: This concert is a celebration of the holiday season in the Celtic tradition!  Rose Clancy on the fiddle and Robbie O’Connell on guitar and vocals – together they create a delightful musical tapestry to celebrate the season.

In this fireside performance in the carriage house style  ballroom, Clancy & O’Connell will perform Celtic-flavored pieces, ranging from little-known Kilmore carols of Wexford to the Irish-American vaudeville stage. They will also explore both the Christian and Pagan traditions surrounding the winter solstice in a mix of songs and instrumental pieces.

🎄 SWANHURST CHORUS 24TH ANNUAL MESSIAH AND CAROL SING

Details: St. Swanhurst Chorus under the direction of conductor Edwin Milham offers the 24th Annual “Messiah and Carol Sing: The Christmas Story”, a beloved tradition of Christmas in Newport. This special evening will feature much of the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah as well as beloved carols, plus selections by Swanhurst’s Chamber Singers and the telling of the Christmas Story. Bring your own score and sing along or just sit and be immersed in the glorious sounds of the season. Scores will be available for rent. A festive “Wassail Bowl” reception for all will follow. BOLSHOI BALLET: THE NUTCRACKER
