Memorial Day weekend in our City by the Sea marks the unofficial start of summer. Our rooftop bars, al fresco patios, sprawling seaside lawns and outdoor attractions begin to reopen and the energy of our city gets bumped up a notch. And that's just the start. Enjoy a harbor cruise with 12 Meter Charters and a visit to Newport Vineyards. Your visit to Newport Vineyards will include a tour, tasting and keepsake wine glass.

Includes:

  • One ticket for a Newport Vineyard’s tour/tasting and one ticket for a 2-hour 12 Meter Sail Cruise.
  • Tours may be scheduled on the same day or different days.
  • Tours Daily at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Tastings all day, Monday - Saturday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Sunday, 12:00 - 4:00 PM
  • Reservations required for groups of 6 or more.

BRUNCH ON A BOAT

Relax at Greenvale Vineyards for a weekend of live music amidst 28 acres of vines. 

  • Friday: 5:00 - 9:00 PM - Enjoy an evening of bluegrass, some classic, some traditional and original tunes from Four Bridges Bluegrass Band.  Bring a picnic and soft drinks.  Wine is for sale at the vineyard
  • Saturday: 1:00 - 4:00 PM - Eight estate grown wines will be available to taste as Dick Lupino plays bass/vocal with Yvonne Monnett on piano/vocal, Dennis Cook on sax and Rick Wells on drums. Jazz Tastings, $15.00. $3.00 for just jazz. 
  • Sunday: 2:00 - 5:00 PM - Slackwater String Band, a folk music trio featuring Mike Fischman, Ed McGuirl and Tom Perrotti, will play an eclectic mix including originals, “Old Time” and Celtic tunes, Country blues and its own take on Jamaican music called AmeriMento. All three members play a variety of acoustic string instruments with a bit of concertina and tin whistle in the mix.  No charge for the music.

THE LAWN AT CASTLE HILL INN 

The sprawling seaside lawn at Castle Hill Inn is often considered a Newport icon. Offering unbeatable panoramic ocean views, classic New England fare and warm weather cocktails, you'll find it hard to leave your Adirondack chair once you sit down. The lawn officially reopens Memorial Day.
