The Fourth of July is quickly approaching, which means it is time for barbeques, fireworks and fun with family and friends.
There are many great things you can do with your family right in Newport and Bristol on the Fourth of July.
As always, Bristol is having their annual Fourth of July Parade. The parade has been a tradition, since the early 1800s. Every year the parade attracts thousands of people and it is a very famous parade. The parade will begin at 10:30am and will start at the corner of Chestnut Street and Hope Street, and it will end on High Street. Parking can be difficult due to the volume of people that this parade, so plan to arrive early. Parking will be available on residential streets and large parking lots will be open to the public at the corner of Hope and Gooding. This is a celebration that you definitely do not want to miss out on and your whole family will have a great time!
Bristol is not the only place to celebrate the Fourth of July, Newport as well as a lot to offer. Newport will be having their annual fireworks display on the 4th and they will begin at 9pm. The fireworks will be launched at Fort Adams State Park over the Newport Harbor. The best place to view the fireworks will be from Fort Adams to Kings Park and all along the beautiful Newport Harbor. Parking for the fireworks will be available at Fort Adams and the Visitors Center.
If you're looking for a barbeque and a place to watch the fireworks join the Vanderbilt Grace Hotel for the Fourth of July. The Vanderbilt Grace will be serving a buffet of American Classics and you will be able to watch the spectacular fireworks display on the roof deck. The barbeque starts at 4pm and ends at 9:30pm, and it costs $65 per person.
If you are looking to be a little more adventurous celebrate the Fourth of July on Rose Island. Rose Island will be having a barbeque filled with grilled chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, and much more. There will also be a cash bar, which will offer beer, wine, water and soft drinks. Not only will you get to enjoy a great barbeque you will have an amazing view of the Newport Fireworks on Rose Island. Attendance is limited to 150 ticket holders, so buy your ticket soon if you want to go. The price of the ticket includes the barbeque, lawn games, lighthouse tours, and the ferry ride.
