Fall festival season is in full swing this weekend with 7 fairs, festivals and major events taking over for the three-day weekend. Some of the most beloved annual events return starting Friday, like the Bowen's Wharf Columbus Day sidewalk sale where you'll find great deals and steals on unique items from area shops, or the opening of the Trinity Church Pumpkin Patch featuring a vast array of pumpkins, mums, gourds and live music in Queen Anne Square. Get your fall fix at Frerich Farm's pumpkin palooza with the chance to paint a pumpkin, hop on a pumpkin coach ride and more.

ROGUE ISLAND COMEDY FESTIVAL

Five nights of comedy at venues all over Newport featuring more than 70 stand-up comedians from Comedy Central, CONAN, HBO, Last Comic Standing, The Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon, MTV, VH1 and more! Enjoy original jokes, authentic stories and endless laughs from some of the nation's funniest, hardest working comics.

2ND ANNUAL BROADWAY STREET FAIR

The Broadway Street Fair begins at Equality Park and extends all along the street offering live music, food, family activities and exhibiting artists. Five outdoor stages will feature local musicians, comedy, and dance. More than a dozen restaurants will show off their culinary talents, and local artisans will showcase their creativity, too.

PUMPKIN PALOOZA

Frerichs Farm & Greenhouses is hosting pumpkin palooza through October filled with family fun. Play in the hay, take a magic pumpkin coach ride, make your own scarecrow, paint a pumpkin and more.

PUMPKIN WEIGH-OFF

Frerichs Farm has been known for its giant pumpkins. In fact, Ron Wallace from Greene, Rhode Island not only won the day in 2015 with his 2,230 lb. pumpkin, but he set a national record and had the second largest pumpkin in the world. Head to the farm for farm activities throughout the day and pumpkin weighing at 12:00 PM.

OPENING OF TRINITY CHURCH'S ANNUAL PUMPKIN PATCH

Enjoy a wide selection of pumpkins, mums, decorative cabbages and gourds. Once you've picked to your heart's content, enjoy sweet selection of homemade goods, freshly popped popcorn, cider and beverages, plus live music and hot lunch on the weekends, artisan craft vendors, picture-in-the-patch and more.
