Serving as a culinary oasis for a population of hungry locavores in search of an inexpensive meal that also upholds gourmet standards, the food truck industry is continually on the rise, serving an estimated 2.5 billion people daily. Starting today, that trend makes its way to the City by the Sea for a six-month street-food haven.

 

Local food trucks (two per month) from across Rhode Island will station outside the award-winning Residence Inn by Marriott Newport/Middletown on Wednesday from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. Serving up everything from gourmet grilled cheese to authentic Chinese cuisine, they are sure to please the palate of every local foodie.
