Celebrate the harvest of the sea with Bowen's Wharf during the 26th Annual Bowen's Wharf Seafood Festival returning Saturday, October 15 through Sunday, October 16, 2016. Named one of the "10 Fabulous Fall Festivals on the Coast," by Coastal Living Magazine, the festival offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy Newport's waterfront during one of it's most picturesque seasons.

Honoring the "Harvest of the Sea," the Bowen's Wharf Seafood Festival offers fresh, local seafood. Fish tacos, lobster rolls, fried calamari, signature cocktails and cold beer accompany continuous live music, and family fun, all beneath the Wharf's colorful tents. Other neighboring restaurants and fisherman's associations serve up their most celebrated seafood dishes (lobster dinners, clam chowder, stuffed quahogs, clam cakes, shrimp, scallops, raw oysters and clams, as well as a few dishes for landlubbers and kids). Fresh juice, soft drinks, desserts and kettle corn for your sweet tooth. Cafe-style seating is set up throughout the Wharf and proceeds from festival bars benefit Oliver Hazard Perry, RI's brand new 200-foot official sailing education vessel which will be at Bowen's Wharf Marina and available for ship visits.

As you savor fresh dishes, sit back and enjoy the beats from area bands. Live folk, Celtic, Caribbean and blues music are just a taste of what you'll hear. Bring your dancing shoes, because these bands promise to get your feet moving!

Check in with The Nature Conservancy of RI while you're here: they're helping us all make sure that recyclables, compostables, shells, trash are all separated and heading to the best possible place for disposal.

Join the 8,000 - 10,000 locals and devoted visitors over the course of this two-day event.
