Hanukkah is here. 🕎

Beyond the crispy latkes, jelly donuts, and spinning dreidels, is a past and present rooted in resilience, and celebrated under the glow of candle lights for eight, consecutive days and nights.

Hanukkah begins at sundown on Sunday, December 14 through nightfall on Monday, December 22, 2025.

This period known as the Jewish “Festival of Lights” commemorates the historical and influential events of the Maccabean Revolt and the miracle of one day of oil lasting eight full days.

Read on for ways you can observe or celebrate Hanukkah in and around Newport.
