A local Middletown school is accelerating efforts to get ready for a very rare event next month. During the first week of May, a small group of students from All Saints STEAM Academy (AS²A) will be posing questions to one of the astronauts aboard the International Space Station as it passes over Rhode Island, becoming the state's first-ever, school-to-space conversation.

The school is holding an "Ask Astronaut Tim" contest through April 10th, asking students across Rhode Island grade K-8 to submit their questions for Astronaut Tim. Three winners will be chosen and invited to join All Saints the day of the event and pose their winning questions to the astronaut.

Contest Details:

1. Contest entrants must be current Pre-K to 8th grade Rhode Island students.
2. Questions must be to the point, composed in one short sentence.
3. Questions must be original. Please be creative, be unique, and think “out of this world!”

5. Winners will be notified no later than Monday, April 25, 2016.
