newportFILM has announced a special springtime James Bond-themed event happening Tuesday, May 9 at Rosecliff.

 

The night will kick off at 6:00 PM on the Rosecliff loggia featuring a cocktail hour with Callie Collection & Meiomi wines, Modelo beer, & a Martini Bar boasting specialty Svedka & Nautical Gin martinis served by Blackstone Caterers. There will be tasty hors d'oeuvres courtesy of Blackstone & The Greg Silva Trio will play music to set the soundtrack for the night. Bond-themed attire welcome, but not required.


At 7:00 PM, guests will move inside to the ballroom for a pre-release screening of the new Hulu documentary, "Becoming Bond." 


"Becoming Bond" is the stranger-than-fiction true story of George Lazenby, a poor Australian car mechanic who, through an unbelievable set of circumstances, landed the role of James Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), despite having never acted a day in his life. Then after being offered the next seven Bond films and a $1 million signing bonus, he turned it all down...

 

There will be a post-film conversation with the film's director, Josh Greenbaum.
