Lobster rolls aren't the only thing Evelyn's Drive-In is serving up this summer. Tiverton’s iconic clam shack is debuting a Friday evening concert series to benefit Singing Out Against Hunger, a charity that provides food to East Bay residents in need.
- Friday, July 15: Doug Mills, Margaret Ferri, Trial and Error, and Seamus Galligan & Mike Heffernan
- Friday, August 19: Clara Maurer, Gary Fish, Darren & Chris
- Friday, September 9: Makayla and the Little Necks, and Glass Bottom Boat
All shows begin at 5:00 PM and will be held at Evelyn’s, located on scenic Nanaquaket Pond at 2335 Main Road in Tiverton. Enjoy the music and check out the menu. Note: Evelyn’s lobster rolls were named among the best in the U.S. by Coastal Living magazine in 2016. You'll also find a host of traditional seafood favorites like clam cakes and Rhode Island chowder (or New England, if that's your thing. No we're not biased!), alongside innovative creations like lobster chow mein (as seen on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives) or a crabby patty. Not a seafood person? Not to worry, Evelyn's also serves home-style classics like chicken pie, meatloaf, burgers and more.
Take your tasty temptations, along with your choice of beer, wine or specialty cocktail, out to the waterfront patio located steps from Nanaquaket Pond, or to the air-conditioned dining room. Or, order at the take-out window and head to the picnic area.
While you're there, take a look at Evelyn’s BIOBUG, a diesel VW Bug powered by clam cakes and their partnership with Newport Biodiesel. How it works: Newport Biodiesel picks up the used fry oil produced by Evelyn's fried offerings, processes it, and then fills the BIOBUG with biodiesel. In 2010, Evelyn’s recycled 27,000 lbs of fry oil.
