July 4th, 2016 Patriotic Parade: Join us for the oldest continuous Fourth of July Celebration in the United States. Just a few minutes over the bridge (the Mount Hope Bridge, that is) in one of our nine coastal towns, Bristol, for their 231st Bristol Fourth of July Parade. The parade starts at 10:30 AM…but make sure you get there early to claim your spot! Details.
July 4th, 2016 Paraded-Out? Never…stay patriotic and show your true Red, White & Blue colors during the Newport Fourth of July Firework display beginning after dark. Don’t fret, if there is rain—we just celebrate on the 5th! Details.
July 9, 2016 – July 16, 2016 Sweet Sailing: Head down to the water for the New York Yacht Club Race Week at Newport presented by Rolex and watch more than 100 yachts compete in one of the biggest regattas of the summer. Details.
July 9, 2016 – July 17, 2016 You will Luv this one: Just after Wimbledon and only weeks before the Olympics, get up close & personal with some of the World’s best Tennis Stars at the Hall of Fame Championships. Also, be sure to check out the newly renovated International Tennis Hall of Fame Museum while attending the tournament! Details.
July 17, 2016 Rip-Roarin’ Twenties: Time travel back to two eras and experience The Great Gatsby in a new light. Start your morning with a screening of the 1974 version of The Great Gatsby and a complimentary breakfast. Then travel up to Bellevue and take a tour of where the film was shot at Rosecliff Mansion for a full day of High society glam. Details.
July 22, 2016 – July 24, 2016 Just Folking Around: Join us at Fort Adams State Park where the Newport Folk Festival features four stages of world class musicians, food and crafts and a number of displays. This event is sold out, but be sure to check out the Fan-to-Fan resale option on the festivals website.
July 29, 2016 – July 31, 2016 Keepin’ it Snazzy & Feelin’ Jazzy: Wrap up the month right by spending the weekend at the Newport Jazz Festival. The City by the Sea will be flooded with jazz music and festivities for this three-day event that happens on four unique stages.
Create Weekly Traditions
Film, Friends & Fun: Join newportFILM every Thursday night as they host their outdoor documentary movie program at unique locations. Join hundreds of other film goers and enjoy an acclaimed documentary film hand-picked for the Newport community. These events are free, with a suggested donation of $5. Bring a blanket and a chair, and make movie night—an outdoor weekly tradition. Details.
Batter Up: Hit a home run with the family by attending a Newport Gulls game, which are recurring weekly throughout the month of July every Monday, Wednesday & Friday at 6:35 PM. And where do the Newport Gulls play, you ask? Well, in one of the oldest operating baseball stadiums in the United States…of course - Cardine's Field.
Marco…Polo? Yes, we have polo…and lots of it. Attend one or all of Newport Polo’s tournaments in Portsmouth happening every Saturday during the month of July. Pop champagne and enjoy this centuries old past time up-close & personal.
