Volvo Ocean Race has officially landed in Newport, the tenth stop on its 45,000 nautical mile journey across four oceans, touching six continents and 12 landmark host cities. You can bet our coastal enclave is celebrating, not only with an exhilarating race village down at Fort Adams boasting food and beer gardens, live music, kids activities, chances to meet the teams and more, but also with a myriad of exciting events all throughout town. With the “Gurney’s Gate” turning point of the race course visible right in front of The Pineapple Club, Gurney’s will be hosting a New England Clambake 12PM-3PM Friday, May 18 through Sunday, May 20. For $95 per person, enjoy a menu that includes Gurney’s signature clam chowder, local lobster, steamers & mussels, fresh cornbread, grilled & pesto-brushed vegetables, and blueberry cobbler.

See the Volvo Ocean Race action in Newport from the water. 12 Meter Charters will be offering cruises on for viewing of the Volvo Ocean Race events. These cruises include viewing the Volvo 65’s racing under motor and sailing Narragansett Bay aboard one of our America’s Cup 12 Meter yachts.
