Spring Bull Gallery welcomes four exciting women artists this October who share a passion and joy when creating art. “Everyday Joy” begins with an opening reception on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 5-7 pm to which the public is invited.
This exhibition showcases the works of: Cindy Crimmin, Elizabeth Lind, Martha Guillette and Jeanne Rosier Smith. The process of creating work as it emerges on paper, canvas or from a stone surface brings each of these artists a fulfillment and the everyday joy which translate to extraordinary art.
Cindy Crimmin started drawing at an early age. Light, texture and form are featured in her work whether it is a New England landscape, still life or a child at play. Elizabeth Lind sculptures centers around the female figure and its timeless beauty. Her work captures the simple elegance of the female form found lying beneath the skin of the stone. Martha Guillette’s work captures the serenity and peace she sees in nature. She enjoys portraying a moment in time and responding to it with a brush and color. Jeanne Rosier Smith began her love affair with pastels over 15 years ago and is now a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America. Whether in the studio or en plein air on the coast of New England landscape, she finds her everyday joy in painting.
“Everyday Joy” runs from Saturday, October 1nd through October 31th. The gallery will be open until 8 pm on Thursday, October 11th for Gallery Night In Newport at which time Elizabeth Lind will be demonstrating carving techniques.
