Home to beaches, farmland, a wildlife refuge, Bishop Berkeley’s Whitehall, and some of the most interesting geological formations in Rhode Island, Paradise Valley embodies artistic, natural, social, and agricultural patterns that have played an important role in Rhode Island’s development and reflect larger regional patterns characteristic of New England in the 18th through 20th centuries. Lecture by Julie Sloan, stained glass expert & conservator. Learn about the stained glass windows of St. Columba's Berkeley Memorial Chapel. Designed by David Maitland Armstrong, a friend and associate of artist John LaFarge, the windows are rare, surviving examples of stained glass fabricated by the famed Tiffany Studios of New York.
