Four authors—Carrie Bennett, Rosann Kozlowski, Kevin McLellan, and Judith Silverman—will read from unpublished and recently published works. Light refreshments will be served.
Carrie Bennett is the author of biography of water (winner of the 2004 Washington Prize), and several chapbooks from Dancing Girl Press—The Quiet Winter, Animals in Pretty Cages, and The Affair Fragments—and Expedition Notes, an ephemera book from Letter [r] Press. She holds an MFA in poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, is a Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellow, and teaches writing at Boston University.
Rosann Kozlowski is the recipient of a Massachusetts Cultural Council Individual Artist Grant in Poetry. Her work is published in numerous journals including Spoon River Poetry Review, Salamander, Connecticut Review, and MidWest Quarterly. Kozlowski writes poetry, plays, and essays; she currently is writing a memoir/biography of her grandmother. Kozlowski has worked as a chemist, a middle school teacher, a college professor, and a freelance writer.
Kevin McLellan is the author of the forthcoming book Hemispheres (Fact-Simile Editions), as well as Ornitheology (The Word Works), [box] (Letter [r] Press), Tributary (Barrow Street), and Round Trip (Seven Kitchens). In 2015 he won the Third Coast Poetry Prize and in 2016 Gival Press’s Oscar Wilde Award. His poems have appeared in numerous literary journals including American Letters & Commentary, Colorado Review, Crazyhorse, Kenyon Review, West Branch, Western Humanities Review, and Witness.
Judith Silverman has taught writing and literature at both the University of Iowa and Boston University. She also has led creative writing workshops in a Massachusetts prison.
