Experience Newport as it was 1777 with enemies and allies living side by side and learn about the colonial cities thriving rum trade and path to rebellion that culminated in the American Revolution. This tour will wind its way through Washington Square where a reenactment portraying the summer of 1777 and the British Occupation of Newport will be ongoing. Top off the tour with a "tot of rum" at the White Horse Tavern where you will sample rum in a reproduction standard sized Royal Navy cup used in the 18th century. This souvenir, which is included in the tour price, is handmade of silver and brass with a silver plated lining.
