The Michelin Guide just released its third-ever hotel rankings for the United States, conferring “key” awards for exceptional properties, including four in Newport. Michelin’s hotel keys are similar to its restaurant star rankings, which come with international distinction and prestige. Michelin-rated hotels can receive either one, two, or three key ratings. For the second year in a row, Castle Hill Inn and Resort and The Chanler at Cliff Walk each earned two keys, which mark “an exceptional stay.” The Cliffside Inn and The Vanderbilt each earned one key, which means “a very special stay,” according to the guide.
