The glitter of gold and the sparkle of silver will dazzle you as you tour three magnificent mansions decked out in Yuletide finery. Music, tours, and spectacular decorations highlight the celebration of Christmas at the Newport Mansions. The Preservation Society of Newport County invites you to make holiday memories with your family by visiting The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House this holiday season.
All properties closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Properties close 2:00 PM on December 24.
For the fourth year, the exterior of The Breakers and its landscape will be awash in thousands of festive colored lights illuminating the grounds' paths and trees. The gardens will be decorated in different themes as holiday music fills the air. Walk through a dazzling 50-foot-long tunnel of light, see illuminated snowmen, reindeer and many more sparkling surprises. Afterwards, don't forget to make your way to the Children’s Cottage outlined in lights to take a peek through the windows at Santa’s Workshop.
Stay warm and festive on the back terrace, with warming stations and adult beverages including hot chocolate with liqueur, apple cider with bourbon, wine and beer. Enjoy holiday sweets and treats, and get a s’mores kit to cook over the fire pit! The Breakers Welcome Center will also have refreshments including snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
City of Newport lights up the harbor with the Illuminated Boat Parade. Caribbean Christmas and Holiday tunes on the steel pan with Panoramic View will be live at the North Pole. Watch the parade of lights from Bowen’s Wharf while boats compete for best decorated.
Spend your Saturdays and Sundays throughout the fall at The Chanler at Cliff Walk's new Apple Cider Bar. Visit the outdoor bar and enjoy a mulled cider from Rose Hill Heirlooms, and if you are looking for a boozy cider, choose from a selection of liqueurs for an elevated cider experience.
