A short drive from Newport will land you in the quaint, patriotic town of Bristol where you'll find Blithewold Manor, Gardens and Arboretum tucked away on 33-acres of meticulously maintained land. The estate overlooking Narragansett Bay was established in 1895 and has since offered a unique fusion of landscape architecture, horticulture and decorative arts.
Today, Blithewold remains among the few late 19th and early 20th century New England estates to retain its authenticity down to the interior furnishings, family archives and artifacts.
For the fourth year, the exterior of The Breakers and its landscape will be awash in thousands of festive colored lights illuminating the grounds' paths and trees.
The gardens will be decorated in different themes as holiday music fills the air. Walk through a dazzling 50-foot-long tunnel of light, see illuminated snowmen, reindeer and many more sparkling surprises.
Afterwards, don't forget to make your way to the Children’s Cottage outlined in lights to take a peek through the windows at Santa’s Workshop.
