Wander three mansions, the The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House, dripping in 25 enchanting Christmas trees, a floor-to-ceiling poinsettia tree, hundreds of fresh flowers, evergreens and elaborate ornaments.

Each year, the historic estate transforms into a sparkling display of Christmas magic to celebrate the season. Volunteer decorators contrive a new theme each year that explores the interests of the Van Winkle family, the previous mansion owners, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This year's theme, “A Family Gathering” plays on previous diary entries and recreates Christmas weekend at the mansion in 1910. Wander the elaborately decorated rooms and enjoy a glimpse into the family's Christmas and New Years traditions.
Bowen's Wharf Holiday Block Party

Conjure the spirit of the holidays at the annual Bowen's Wharf Block Party with live music, special deals at local shops and boats decorated in their yuletide's finest dotting the harbor for the Illuminated Boat Parade.
The Newport Nutcracker

Island Moving Company invites you to enjoy their Rhode Island ballet tradition, A Newport Nutcracker at Rosecliff. Follow the young protagonist through the rooms of Rosecliff mansion as she celebrates the holiday season with her family, battles with the Mouse King, dances with the Snow Queen, and travels with her beloved Nutcracker to the magical Land of Sweets.
NEWPORT HARBOR ILLUMINATED BOAT PARADE
NOVEMBER 23, 6:15 PM
Where: Along the harbor
Bundle up and head to the harbor for the Illuminated Boat Parade as boats deck the hulls and festive music heralds the arrival of the holiday season. Watch the parade of lights are boats compete for best decorated.
Dickens Christmas Dinner Train
FRIDAYS + SATURDAYS, NOV. 30 - DEC. 22
Where: Departs Portsmouth Junction Station, One Alexander Road, Portsmouth
This interactive retelling of the Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol” by the Marley Bridges Theatre Company is an evening of music, laughter, food, and spirits certain to cure even the worst “Scrooge.” Join Ebenezer himself, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and all the Christmas Spirits on a dinner journey along the Newport and Narragansett Bay Railroad. Your night will include 5 staves, 4 courses, 3 ghosts, 2 partners, and 1 Scrooge.

Details: Christmas in Newport began as a two-week festival that celebrated the noncommercial traditions of the holiday season. Now in its 47th year, the annual program boasts multiple activities for nearly each day of the December calendar. Enjoy various holiday events and entertainment including busking and caroling, ice skating downtown, the Bowen’s Wharf Annual Christmas Tree Lighting with Santa Claus, dozens of local restaurants serving seasonal delights (hint hint: hot apple cider and hot cocoa), and unique shops offering special holiday deals.
Annual Bowen's Wharf Christmas Tree Lighting
DECEMBER 1, 4:30 PM

Thousands of sparkling lights will illuminate the tree at historic Bowen's Wharf as the towering evergreen tree is lit for the first time. Enjoy caroling along with a visit from Frosty the Snowman, Santa and Mrs. Claus at "The North Pole." Restaurants & shops are open before and after the event.
Bristol's Tree Lighting + Grand Illumination

Bristol's Tree Lighting and Grand Illumination heralds the arrival of the holidays in downtown Bristol with live music and entertainment, a Christmas sing-a-long, grand illumination of the town tree and more.
