In order for everyone to enjoy the beauty that is Newport and its surrounding coastal communities this season, local restaurants, shops and business are doing everything they can to ensure the safety of all. NEWPORT VINEYARDS

909 E Main Road, Middletown 
Newport Vineyards includes a 60-acre vineyard, restaurant, cafe, marketplace, tasting room and tank room. The vineyard was originally established in 1977 with the goal of producing fine wines as a way of preserving agricultural land from rapid development. Today, they produce a variety of quality, award winning wines.

 

TOUR + TASTING DETAILS:
  • Traditional tastings at the bar are on hold, but table reservations are available for wine and Taproot beer tasting flights, wine by the glass, beer pints and dining 
  • Wine tastings include a flight of four different varieties of wine for $16 per person

  • Advance reservations are required for visiting. 
  • Weekend reservations are released each Monday at 10:00 AM. Weekday reservations are released month-by-month.
  • The marketplace is open daily (no reservation needed) for retail purchases. 
  • There is an 1.5 hour limitation on all table reservations.
  • Maximum reservation party size is 8 guests Monday – Thursday, and 6 guests Friday – Sunday. Splitting a larger group into multiple table reservations is not permitted, and any congregating of groups is not permitted.

GREENVALE VINEYARDS

Greenvale Farm, located along the scenic Sakonnet River, has been in the same family since 1863. The vineyard, which has been family operated since 1982, serves 100% Estate Grown, award-winning wines created from 27 acres of grapes and nurtured by rich history and a commitment to the preservation of open space.

  • Tastings include seven different varieties of wine and a wine glass to keep for $15 per person.
  • Jazz tastings are available every Saturday from 1:00 - 4:00 PM May through December and include live jazz music, 7 different types of wine with an admission fee of $5.
  • Private tours are available by appointment and include a private vineyard tour followed by a wine tasting of 7 wines and a wine glass.
  • This vineyard is dog-friendly, but dogs must be leashed.

CAROLYN'S SAKONNET VINEYARD

162 W Main Road, Little Compton
Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyard opened in 1975 in Little Compton on the notion that the micro climate and soil conditions found along the Southeastern New England coast closely resemble some of the great wine regions of the world (Think: France). The vineyard sits on 163 acres of land and produces 19 wines.

  • Sunday - Friday: 11:00 - 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

 

TASTING DETAILS:
  • Enjoy 7 samples of estate wines and a keepsake glass for $14 per person

Newport Craft Brewing Co. was originally founded in 1909 by four college friends. It was the original production craft brewery in Rhode Island, and has since created more than 100 distinctive beers while keeping things local and authentic. From a large selection of brews made with Rhode Island grown ingredients, to beers aged in rum barrels, the brewery has been in the vanguard of craft brewing for nearly 20 years.

Visit their tasting room, located at the entrance of their Newport brewing facility, to sample the latest brews and spirits, or make your way out to the seasonal pavilion and kick back with a local brew.

Established in 2017 by old friends, Ragged Island exists to share a passion for indulgent libations. Head Brewer Tony Barber brings skills he developed over years working in the industry to keep the tap lines flowing with a diverse and constantly evolving lineup of beer. The local brewing co. based in Portsmouth recently expanded, now encompassing a taproom and a 37-acre farm location where they host open-air events alongside hop fields, walking trails and greenhouses.

TWELVE GUNS BREWING

Twelve Guns Brewing opened in 2019 helmed by a Connecticut Native who knew he wanted to open a brewery in Rhode Island. The name, Twelve Guns, is a nod to Rhode Island history and the U.S.S. Providence, a 12-gun ship which was one of the first ships commissioned by the Continental Navy. The 10 barrel craft brewery is Bristol's first and only brewery and tap room, boasting 8 rotating beers on tap with food trucks and pop-ups present on the weekends.
