Head to Bowen's Wharf for an enchanting evening of caroling, Christmas whimsy and family fun on Saturday, December 1 for the annual Bowen's Wharf Christmas Tree Lighting.
Frosty the Snowman arrives at 4:30 PM, followed by the Christmas Carol Sing-a-long at 5:00 PM. Meander shops and galleries open before, during and after the event for holiday shopping, and enjoy sweet treats like hot chocolate and elfish fare from Sprinkles Ice Cream.
Head to the center of the wharf at 6:00 PM to watch as the mayor of Newport lights the 30-foot tree, followed by the cheerful arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus by boat, weather permitting. Music will continue until every child has had a chance to whisper their Christmas wishes to Santa at “The North Pole.”
