THE most important thing to do in Newport? The Cliff Walk. It's a truly stunning walk along—you guessed it—a cliff, with the ocean on one side of you and some casual Gilded Age mansions on the other (which yep, you can stop in and tour). This isn't exactly a ~nightlife~ town, so consider it a great opportunity to eat huge amounts at dinner and go back to your hotel room (The Chanler, if you're feeling fancy and love a converted mansion) to sleep it off.
