Newport, one of America's earliest resorts, gained prominence with opulent summer homes built by the likes of Cornelius Vanderbilt. These mansions offer glimpses into the lavish lifestyles. The city, rich in maritime history, boasts magnificent houses and provides opportunities for beach activities, sailing, dining, shopping, and hiking. Spring brings vitality, with 1.3 million daffodils blooming, Newport Restaurant Week, and the Newport Night Run in mid-April. Nearby Bristol features a daffodil-filled garden and Blythewood Mansion in April. Fort Adams State Park hosts the Newport Drink Festival at the end of April, and May brings the Newport Oyster and Chowder Festival with champagne.
