The Christmas spirit is taking over on our Classic Coast as we dive into the holiday season and we have a total of zero complaints. From Polar Express pajama story time and a lighting of one of our favorite historic lighthouses complete with hot chocolate and carolers to starlit strolls and holiday lantern tours, nestle up at these 7 cozy events for a dose of holiday cheer.

Enjoy an illuminated stroll along the winding paths of Blithewold’s enclosed garden. Take in the wonder of trees and paths that twinkle, sparkle and glow. A scavenger hunt will offer you the opportunity to take a closer look at the handcrafted lanterns and ornaments that light your way through this delightful garden promenade. All ages welcome.

Head over to Gurney's as they light the historic Goat Island Lighthouse alongside carolers, spiked cider, live music at the resort’s Regent Cocktail Club and of course, undisturbed views of the famed Newport Bridge.

Hear the history of early American holiday traditions on an evening walk. Learn how Newporters did, or didn’t, observe the holidays.
Stroll through Blithewold’s illuminated gardens and greenhouse and enjoy singing with the carolers alongside free hot cocoa and s’mores around a roaring bonfire in Blithewold’s Enclosed Garden. S’mores kits are 1 for $2, and 3 for $5 (a part of the proceeds benefits the Boy Scouts).
