On the second Thursday of every month from February through December, art aficionados of all kinds stroll the streets of our bustling wharves and eclectic neighborhoods to experience the work of 25+ galleries.

 

COVID-19 NOTE: Due to COVID-19 safety restrictions and guidelines, this month's Newport Gallery Night will solely feature two galleries: Beach Studios and DeBlois Gallery. Enjoy small works for the holidays in the gallery space at Beach Studios, along with DeBlois Gallery's Naturally Abstract Show.

OVERVIEW:

Established in 2001 and now in its 18th year, Newport Gallery Night stands as first-hand evidence that Newport's art scene is alive and well. On the second Thursday of every month, art aficionados of all kinds stroll the streets of our bustling wharves and eclectic neighborhoods to experience the work of 25+ galleries. Participating galleries, museums and cultural institutions will be open from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.

SPECIAL HAPPENINGS

  • Jessica Hagen Fine Art & Design: Member artists will display beautiful contemporary works for the 14th Annual Holiday Show. A reception will be held on Saturday, December 12 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM where guests can meet the artists whose talents and visions make it all possible.

  • Thames Glass: Explore glass ornaments, snowmen, fish, fruits and vegetables, and tableware line the shelves and are sure to delight. Everything is handblown and shaped by master craftsman Matthew Buechner and his passionate team.

  • The Redwood Library and Athenaeum: Enjoy their newest exhibit featuring the rare private photographs of Great Depression Era documentarian Russel Lee. History-buffs and photography-nerds alike would absolutely appreciate a membership to the Redwood’s treasures, just waiting to be discovered with friends and family.

 

PARKING

Free parking is available during Newport Gallery Night at the Newport Visitor Center for free November - April. From May 1 - October 31, parking costs $2 for the first half-hour and $1.50 for each additional half hour. Newport residents receive 3-hours free. Additional parking is available at the Newport Art Museum
