rarebrick_20150501_9427   Congratulations to Gilded Hotel who recently opened their freshly painted Brinley Street doors to guests earlier this month. With a "clever twist on a Golden Age," the boutique property fuses the bejeweled decadence of the Gilded Age with quaint, modern-day charm. Upon entering the property, guests are immediately transported to a time of opulence. Themes and inspiration from rococo, beaux arts and other trending styles from the era, chosen by award-winning interior designer Rachel Reider, are evident throughout the property as chic vibrant colors dress the walls while gold accent pieces and bold patterns greet you at every turn. Combine the opulent decor with the hotel's array of leisure activities synonymous with the glittering Gilded era and the result is a surely unique one. Visit the billiards room boasting a black velvet and white lacquer pool table, or enjoy a tranquil afternoon in the secluded courtyard complete with a croquet practice court (because what's a Gilded Age hotel without a croquet offering?) While the decor elements indeed teleport guests back to the Gilded Age, modernity is not completely lost. Each room provides contemporary amenities including an LED Smart TV, iPhone/iPod docking station and iPad in each room (and WiFi, of course). All in all, Gilded offers a fun, mischievous atmosphere for guests looking to enjoy their Newport stay like a Vanderbilt (well, almost.) Deal Alert Stay mid-week in June for just $169 per night.
