Welcome to Fort Barton, a historic American Revolutionary War fort. Either weave through the 3.5 miles of trails or climb to the top of the Fort Barton observation tower. From here you will be treated with vistas of The Mt. Hope Bridge, the neighboring town of Portsmouth, the Sakonnet River and so much tree top beauty. 

Insider's Tip: Wear the proper footwear, these forest lined trails are a bit hilly (for Rhode Island standards) and include stairs at some parts.

A small, family-oriented beach located on the Sakonnet River, Grinnell's Beach offers a small crescent of sand and sun with a children's play area and a designated swimming area. 

Located right on Main Road this beach is a favorite spot year-round for beach goers, from fishing on the pier or just taking in the views of the Sakonnet River.

Pastoral and farm views, along with farm friends like cows and goats, will greet you from across the street as you pull into the well-preserved system of trails at the Audubon Emilie Ruecker Wildlife Refuge.

This 50-acre parcel of protected land includes 1.6 miles of trails, with fairly easy and flat terrain.

Fogland Beach in Tiverton is the ideal spot for windsurfing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and kite surfing, all complimented by beautiful views of the Sakonnet River and neighboring Portsmouth.  

Insider's Tip: Wear shoes, this stretch of coastline is made up of a mixture of pebbles and sand.

This unassuming spot is perhaps the coolest way to take in the coastal views, while being directly under the Sakonnet Bridge, literally.

Located off Riverside Drive, you’ll find a short and sweet harbor walk, complete with a boat ramp, and plenty of parking across the street in a public lot. 

Located in the heart of Tiverton Four Corners in a circa 1876 landmark building, Groundswell Cafe + Bakery feels like it was transplanted from a charming corner in Paris.

From the seasonally adorned wrap-around porch lined with chic bistro seating and patio with cozy firepits, to the interior filled with grab-and-go goodies and blue velvet curtains adorning the windows, and of course the fresh French-inspired cuisine and baked goods.
