The season of giving is upon us, and a group of more than 50 Newport retailers and restaurants are banding together to make the holiday season a reason to give back while you check off your list.

Thamesgiving in Newport is celebrated each Thursday in November (except Thanksgiving Day of course), with a plethora of shopping deals and give back feel goods that benefit local organizations like the Martin Luther King Center, Lucy’s Hearth, Boys & Girls Club of Newport and more. So, trade the crowds for coastal shopping vibes, stroll along Newport’s charming Thames Street, savor the season and do a little good along the way.

Copper Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt

Hidden pumpkins and raffle prizes. Classic.

Are you good at finding things? Test your skills with the Copper Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt during ThamesGiving, with hidden pumpkins scattered across the city at participating businesses. Follow along the ThamesGiving Map and fill up your passport along the way—when you find a hidden pumpkin, ask for a sticker for your find, from the participating business. Once you have completed your passport, use the 16 drop off boxes located along Thames Street to be entered into a raffle for various prizes. The drawing will be held on Thursday, November 30th at the ThamesGiving Closing Ceremony, at O'Brien's Pub in Newport (and also available via live stream.)
