The season of giving is upon us, and a group of more than 80 Newport retailers and restaurants are banding together to make the holiday season a reason to give back while you check off your list. 

ThamesGiving is celebrated all November in Newport, with a variety of events, shopping deals, and most importantly, give back feel goods that benefit local organizations. Trade the crowds for coastal shopping vibes, festive events, a scavenger hunt with incredible prizes, and do a little good along the way.

Join Greg O’Brien, career journalist and author of “On Pluto: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer’s” which chronicles the journalist’s own progression with the disease, for a brief talk, Q&A, and book signing.

Following O’Brien’s presentation, List Academy of Music will conduct “The Legends” when 12 active seniors will perform C.H.I.M.E. (Cognitive Health Interactive Music Ensemble).

Copper Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt

Hidden pumpkins and raffle prizes. Classic. 

Are you good at finding things? Test your skills with the Copper Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt during ThamesGiving, with hidden pumpkins scattered across the city at 80+ participating businesses.

Follow along the ThamesGiving Map and fill up your passport along the way—when you find a hidden pumpkin, scan the unique QR code and fill out a short survey, earn a sticker for your passport and one for yourself! Once you have completed your passport, drop off your completed passports at your last ThamesGiver. The drawing will be held in early December, date and location to be announced, also available via live stream.
