Each year, the historic estate transforms into a sparkling display of Christmas magic to celebrate the season. Volunteer decorators contrive a new theme each year that explores the interests of the Van Winkle family, the previous mansion owners, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This year's theme, “A Family Gathering” plays on previous diary entries and recreates Christmas weekend at the mansion in 1910. Wander the elaborately decorated rooms and enjoy a glimpse into the family's Christmas and New Years traditions.

ANNUAL BOWEN'S WHARF CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING

Thousands of sparkling lights will illuminate the tree at historic Bowen's Wharf as the towering evergreen tree is lit for the first time. Enjoy caroling along with a visit from Frosty the Snowman, Santa and Mrs. Claus at "The North Pole." Restaurants & shops are open before and after the event.

Bristol's Tree Lighting and Grand Illumination heralds the arrival of the holidays in downtown Bristol with live music and entertainment, a Christmas sing-a-long, grand illumination of the town tree and more.

DECK THE TRUNKS WITH FOOD TRUCK FOLLIES

🎄 NEWPORT MUSIC FESTIVAL PRESENTS A MUSICAL CHRISTMAS
DECEMBER 8, 7:30 PM


WhereSt. Mary's Church
Admission: $25, $5 children

This heartwarming Christmas concert will delight young and old. Performers include Trevor Neal. Enjoy harp, piano, organ, and percussion accompanied by the children's choirs from St. Mary's and St. John's churches.

PORTSMOUTH PIE OFF

The first ever Portsmouth Pie Off invites amateur and professional bakers to submit their best pies before a panel of three judges for a chance to win a prize and receive a Ragged Island beer. Submissions must be made between 4:00 - 5:00 PM, followed by judging between 5:00 - 6:00 PM. Entry is free and open to the public. Bakers, please write your name and phone number on bottom of your pie tray.

Enjoy carolers, jingle bikes & more to help get you in the spirit all while strolling along Broadway and enjoying the local restaurants & merchants. There will be local & regional makers and merchants lining the sidewalk from Corner Cafe to Farewell for your shopping pleasure! All will culminate with the Newport City Hall Tree Lighting that will happen at 4:00 PM.

AFTERNOON TEA WITH SANTA
DECEMBER 16, 1:00 - 3:00 PM

Where: Vanderbilt
Admission: $15

Join Santa as he prepares for Christmas Day, while sipping loose leaf tea and dining on delicate finger sandwiches. Santa will be taking wish lists and available for photos. Tea will be served in the main dining room off of a lavish buffet. Hot Chocolate will be available for the non-tea drinker, along with a bounty and petite fours. Reservations are required as space is limited.

Head to The Kings Lens and Friends gallery for a meet and greet with Santa. Kids can enjoy a photo with Santa while Harvest Market and The Coffee Guy offer treats and hot beverage. Tree lighting will be happening at 1:00 PM.
