Come June, this charming coastal enclave transforms into an electric paradise brimming with family-friendly events, outdoor festivals and exciting happenings. Some of our favorite annual events return this month, like the International Polo Series every Saturday through September at Glen Farm in Portsmouth; the Newport Gulls games at historic Cardines Field; Newport Pride Weekend, the Newport Flower Show and so many more.

LGBTQ+ Pride is happening in Newport, RI in June 2022! We're creating events and experiences to celebrate community, and promote love, acceptance, inclusivity, and diversity of LGBTQ+ identities. We shall do so safely and thoughtfully and we invite you to join!
June 24th - 26th in Newport, RI. Festivities will include:
Watch the home team, USA/Newport, take on challengers from around the world and major U.S. cities in one of the most exciting spectator sports in the world. Matches are held every Saturday, June – Sept., at Newport Polo, home of America’s First Polo Club. Festivities include Opening and Closing ceremonies, half-time Divot Stomp, Player’s Salute, Trophy Presentation, Après Polo Lounge, fan prizes, and other special weekly features fieldside.
Matches start at 5PM. Expert commentary and Jumbotron live coverage explain the nuances of the game. Reserved Pavilion tables and Tailgate picnic spaces are sold in advance online, and Lawn Seating available online and at the entry gates. The 2022 Newport Flower Show will celebrate Eden...A Personal Paradise, from fantasy gardens to modern farms, with a variety of special events, beautiful floral designs, impressive horticulture exhibits, stunning garden displays, unique shopping opportunities and more. The show opens on Friday, June 17 and runs through Sunday, June 19, 2022.
The Preservation Society enthusiastically welcomes the Right Honorable Countess of Carnarvon to Newport for a day of sharing and celebration. Lady Carnarvon is the owner and creative mind behind the resurgence of Highclere Castle, best known for being Downton Abbey’s iconic English estate. She is passionate about restoring Highclere Castle’s historic buildings and landscapes, gardening, and sustainability.

Newport is synonymous with sailing, so it's only fitting that we kick start summer with the return of a renowned ocean race. The Newport Bermuda Race, the oldest regularly scheduled ocean race dating back to 1906, and one of just two of the world’s regularly scheduled races held almost entirely out of sight of land, returns to our Classic Coast on Friday, June 17, 2022.

The Newport Gulls will kick off a 44-game schedule this June, hosting 22 home games throughout the months of June and July in search of their league-leading seventh Fay Vincent Sr. Cup.

Join the Japan America Society of Rhode Island for the 38th Annual Black Ships Festival. A celebration of the friendship and culture between Japan and the United States and the trading treaty negotiated by Rhode Island’s Own Commodore Matthew C. Perry, USN over 160 years ago. From Arts & Crafts, Taiko Drumming and Martial Arts there are a variety of activities for all ages and interest. Independence Park will become a Japanese American Village with arts crafts and martial arts.

Blithewold and Bristol Yoga Studio present an outdoor summer yoga series each Friday morning. All are invited to join in for an inspiring class under a canopy of trees, amidst the gardens and waterfront property. Bring a yoga mat and water, and wear comfortable clothing. Join 11th Hour Racing at Fort Adams for a free event with the chance to see the 11th Hour Racing Team’s new IMOCA 60. Plus, you’ll be one of the first to experience our new Ocean Hologram Exhibit that enables you to experience the magic of our ocean. A fun event for all ages, with a preview of The Ocean Race when it sails into Newport in May 2023.
Fans are encouraged to join 11th Hour Racing and the Team at Fort Adams to give their home team a proper sendoff for the Newport Bermuda Race, which starts on June 17.

This four-day event is dedicated exclusively to yacht charter professionals; agents, owners, brokers and captains in the dynamic, picturesque setting of Newport, Rhode Island.
The Newport Charter Yacht Show is produced by Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard, also the host to the Newport Brokerage Boat Show held concurrently with the Newport International Boat Show each September.

Newport Foodies Stroll offers a 1.75 miles walking food tour through Lower Thames Street. You will learn about the "City by the Sea", as well as try the cuisine from five of the best locally owned restaurants. The best time to schedule your tour is at the beginning of your visit to Newport. The tour runs rain or shine from May 1st - October 31st on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
All tours begin at 11:30am and last 2.5-3 hours. Meet Tom and Sue, your tour guides, in front of the wave statue/sculpture at the intersection of America's Cup and Memorial Boulevard. They will provide water, sunscreen, and disposable rain ponchos.
