A MANO PIZZA + GELATO
Meet Newport's brick-oven pizza and handmade gelato food truck: A Mano Pizza + Gelato. In English, the Italian phrase "A mano" means "by hand," which is exactly how owner and chef Simone Ferrara controls the dough, arguably the most important piece of the pie and made of four simple ingredients, for an end result that is crisp, airy and pillowy.
Catch a glimpse of your Neapolitan pizza cooking through the truck's custom-made glass windows inside a brick-oven that was handcrafted and imported from Naples, Italy (the birthplace of Margherita pizza). The oven operates 100% by wood fire, using oak to help with the smokiness of the crust.
Among the menu options are five choices of pizza, including classic choices like Margherita, pepperoni, and sweet Italian sausage, two calzone options, and a sandwich offering.
You can find the weekly schedule and map of locations at amanopizzanpt.com
Newport's only lobster and tacos food truck is the brainchild of the owners and creators at La Forge Restaurant.
The menu offers myriad Mexican favorites, including street corn, nachos, and of course taco varieties including pulled pork, pulled chicken, shrimp, tofu, steak and lobster. Lobster roll offerings include traditional tossed with light mayo, Casa Lacosta tossed with yogurt sauce and scallions, or hot brown butter tossed in a mixture of warm brown sugar butter with scallions and lime.
