The culinary scene on the Classic Coast has carved a new path, a testament of passion and dedication, one of love and labor, and it’s been recognized. Newport and Bristol County are now home to six James Beard Foundation semi-finalists in the past two years.
Established in 1990, the James Beard Foundation’s Restaurant and Chef Awards recognize exceptional talent and achievement in the culinary arts, hospitality, media, and broader food system, as well as a demonstrated commitment to racial and gender equity, community, sustainability, and a culture where all can thrive.

In less than one year, they are on the main stage with the designation of their Chef de Cuisine Jasmine Watson, who was named a semifinalist for Emerging Chef, a category for exceptional talent who are likely to make an impact in the future of the culinary world.
