As the temperatures drop and things settle here on The Coast, we're cooking up something delicious for burger lovers abound. Newport Burger Bender returns Friday, February 15 - Sunday, February 24 with 30 of the biggest, savoriest burgers competing for the title of "Best Burger" around town.
Unfolding in tandem with Newport Winter Festival, Newport Burger Bender is a best burger competition that allows area restaurants to toss their best burger into the gauntlet in hopes of being crowned the winner. Contenders range from beefy burgers featuring local Aquidneck Farms beef (Brix at Newport Vineyards) to prime dry aged beef with Gruyere and house stake sauce (The Grill at Forty 1 North). There’s also a bevy of creative entries including a Wagyu beef burger with butter sauteed lobster, truffle aoili and Gruyere (22 Bowen's Wine Bar & Grille).
Head to the Newport Burger Bender website and pick your favorite burger. The contest is limited to 30 participating restaurants and the burger with the most votes will be crowned the winner. A “Critic’s Choice” winner will also be named by a lauded Rhode Island food critic.
Voting takes place throughout the entirety of the contest, February 15 - February 24. Voters are automatically entered into daily giveaways for the chance to win $25 to a participating restaurant.
